Healthy Holiday Tips
Holidays can be a time to connect with friends and family and enjoy some of our favorite foods! We can do all of this without giving up our gains that we have worked so hard to achieve. Here are some tips for a healthy holiday:
Drink water right when you get up.
Remember to drink ½ your body weight in ounces throughout the day. Many times we can be out of our routine for a holiday and forget to drink water!
Move
Can you schedule time to workout when you get up in the morning? Orangetheory has classes on Thanksgiving morning! Remember, if you are going to attend, prebook! It is one of the busiest days of the year! PreBook Here
It doesn’t have to be going to Orangetheory to get in your movement. Jeff and I go for a long walk every Thanksgiving. It is a time to connect and be together before we have family time. It is a tradition I love each year.
Ask yourself – what does your body need that day? The key is planning and scheduling ahead!
Remember to move after you eat! It will lower your blood sugar. It can be a family walk around the block. It doesn’t have to be fast or long! Just incorporate movement!
Drink apple cider vinegar before your meal.
Apple cider vinegar helps keep your blood sugar lower. It is key that you mix it with water! This can be a quick and easy way to stabilize blood sugars. Don’t forget to add it to your shopping list!
