Top Protein Powder Reccomendations
The best protein powders and shakes depends on you and what your body needs. There are so many choices and options that it can be very confusing. Let’s break it down and make it easy to find what is the right fit for you.
There are various categories of proteins, each with its’ unique characteristics and sources. One type is whey protein, derived from cow’s milk, making it dairy-based. The notable advantage of whey protein is its classification as a complete protein, signifying the presence of all nine essential amino acids crucial for the body.
There are 2 types of whey that are prevalent on the market, Whey Concentrate and Whey Isolate. Here is a quick breakdown of the differences:
Isolates undergo multiple filtration levels to remove lactose and fat content. The result is high protein content with minimal fats, carbs, and lactose.
- Whey protein concentrate is around 80% protein, the rest is made of carbs and fats.
- Whey Protein Isolate is usually better for those who are lactose intolerant.
- Both are a complete proteins and have all 9 amino acids.
There is a non-dairy option with plant proteins. It can be sourced from several different plants. The benefit is that it doesn’t contain lactose and is vegan for those who want that option. The drawback is that it is an incomplete protein so it will not have all 9 essential amino acids.
Here are a few recommendations for you and why I am recommending them:

It comes in many different flavors. The company is owned by Vani Hari, also known as the Food Babe. She has several great books and information on social media! She has taken on some of the biggest food manufacturers to get them to take ingredients out of products. She didn’t have a protein powder that she wanted to use, so created this company. It is a very clean, organic protein.
