3 Ways to Improve Your Health Today
Hydrate
We all know to drink water, yet 40-60% of people don’t drink enough. You need ½ your body weight in ounces plus 8 ounces for each 15 minutes of exercise.
Example: 150 pound person that works out 30 minutes would need the following: 75 ounces +16 ounces = 91 ounces a day
One easy way to start your day out right is to drink 12 ounces of water. Bonus if you squeeze in lemon… It adds extra vitamin C! According to News Medical Life Sciences, even mild dehydration has significant effects on your body. These effects include lack of focus, feeling tired, and having headaches.
Stabilize your Blood Sugar
One way to help stabilize your blood sugar is to eat protein with every meal and eat it first. If you eat protein first it helps you to know when you are full and helps with blood sugar spikes. Try for at least 30 grams of protein with each meal.
Another way to stabilize blood sugar after you eat is movement. One way to do this is a short walk after dinner. Walking for 10-20 minutes will help decrease your blood sugar.
Lastly, give your metabolism a rest for at least 12 hours at night. If you finish dinner at 7pm, don’t eat again until 7am. You may want to go longer, but 12 hours is a great place to be each day.
